This forum will be used to monitor the friendly competition between TSFer's who are rowing on concept2 machines.

Anyone is welcome to post a time in the various threads below. If you can think of a different distance/time or another rowing challenge feel free to create a new thread.

Some basic rules

Concept2 Machines Only - Comparisons would be pointless otherwise

No Historic PBs - Only post records that you have achieved since August. Obviously this means the leader boards will be quite bare initially but it means that everyone is starting from the same point.

Best time only - The leader boards will only contain one entry per person. When you beat your previous record that entry will be replaced with your new record.

We seem to have quite a wide range of rowing times on here so don't feel that your time isn't good enough to post. Obviously the success or failure of this forum depends on how many people we get recording times, so the more the merrier

We've decided to archive the old tables and start a new 'Season'

The Season will last until the RWC final. Same rules as last time, just a finite time to post your records.

2007 Season - 14th May until the RWC final

The new tables will be up shortly

what a great chance to temporarily lead the tables b4 that bartfulla gets his grubby mits on them!

I'm off to the gym to go for a 2km, a 5km and a 500m in 1 hit!  (well, not really, but I bloody well should!)

Good idea for the season. I'm going to have another crack at this, have taken the plunge and bought a Concept 2 (arrives in a week or so).

Ok, I need motivation and one of the only workouts I enjoy is the C2 rowing (by enjoy, I mean hate, but can tolerate).

Gym in the apartment complex not going to know what's hit it!

One smaller, both bald, same gear...  I just got this mental image of Bart looking at Kirwan and saying, "I will call him... Mini-me!"  :)

How much did the C2 knock you and how much room do you find it takes up? I'm undecided about whether to get one or just keep paying gym fees. I'd appreciate input on your experience.  :nta

£939 seems to be the standard price for a model D with the PM3 display. There's some alright deals around for second hand machines but they do tend to hold their value

The machines breaks in two for storage, and the you can stand the two pieces on theirs ends. Takes up fuck all room, I store mine on top of my weights bench

Cost me £960 which is the same as my yearly gym membership. Down the track, second hand ones seem to keep their value well (£6-700ish) so in real terms, worth the outlay.

They fold up so storage wise they don't take up much space. Using my brother's C2 (mine hasn't arrived yet) I found it much more comfortable to use than the ones at the gym.

Duluth, I would have to say that that is the most inspired excuse for never getting the weights bench out of hibernation I have ever heard!  :)

I'm thinking seriously about it as it's perfect training for hiking and seems to really do the business for playing in the back-row; quite a functional fitness for both.  :nta
