Purely on the back of the technique tips on the other threads. Can't believe how screwed I was, and I can usually hold it at a steady 1:50/500 pace without it hurting that much at all. Fuck, three weeks off training and I'm as unfit as all get out.

First row I have done in an age where I had to set a target. Can't row to save myself at the moment, but glad to be sub 2:00/500m for 2 K's

Once you get your shit sorted you will be dangerous here - being a tall big bastard, you'll cane these times before too long.
I am sure I rmemeber a challenge at somes stage in the dim past... :coolsmiley:

Being a midget myself it is hard work, to be sure. 5' 11" as opposed to 6' 6" is where it is all at.
I coulda been a contenda!!

Try getting the machine to a 1:30 split and see how long you can hold it for.

Is wicked though, just can't get my mind around that sort of pace, is insane!

And as for prop Cyril, the rower flexes when he puts the power on, he'll probably row the bastard in half if he is not careful!!

I did my first row yesterday and this was after a weights session and 35 minutes on the cross trainer.
I did 2km in 10:01. I will do a 2km row shortly with no exercise beforehand and then post my time.

Unfortuantely I wont have access to a concept 2 for much longer - I bought another rowing machine Infiniti R100 which is as good as the concept 2 IMHO - check it out here http://rowing-machine-reviews.elliptica ... eviews.htm.
So the gym membership is going to run out at the end of september so I will use my other rower at hoime and come down to the gym to beat my PB's on the concept 2!

That is seriously quick.
I think now I've picked up a few seconds on the 5 km, it's time to try to lower the 2 km again. I have my sights on 7.15-7.20. We shall see.

I tried to get out fast and hold it. With 500 to go I was on track for about 7.20 but really struggled especially the last 300m and faded. Had to sit with my head down for about 1 min to avoid falling off the machine!
Still, it's a PB by a little.

Top times.
I have not rowed for two weeks -been running with BartWoman and crook with a cold over the weekend and now - so going to take the week off - or at least until tomorrow morning from anything!!
Sucks, but sometimes is your body telling you off!

Bart I find it really tough using your strategy. I start with a strong 500m, drift a little during the middle 1000m and come home strong in the last 500m.
