Someone should point out to the players that worry about their IPL contracts and cost us a third test match against Australia... that they probably won't be getting paid to play by anyone very soon!

Cricket: Black Caps defeated in warmup match
9:15AM Saturday Sep 19, 2009

New Zealand suffered an embarrassing defeat to club side Port Elizabeth Warriors in a warmup match for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

The Black Caps were dismissed for 237 in the 47th over of the match in Pretoria, the Warriors knocking off the runs with two wickets to spare.

Martin Guptill was the best of the weakened New Zealand batting line up striking 78 with Ross Taylor hitting 51 as they shared a 95 run for the second wicket.

Grant Elliott made a useful 47 but the rest of the batting line up couldn't take advantage of the solid start, the last seven wickets falling for 27 runs.

Warriors strike bowler Juan Theron did most of the damage taking five for 42.

Ian Butler was the best of the Black Caps attack taking four for 53 with Daryl Tuffey returning three for 49.

In fairness, our tail started at 6.

And in fairness it's against a club side, and we're supposedly aiming to beat several international sides in the next few weeks... xzxflag_of_truce
