really is quite tight this season for both top place as well and competition for Europe.

Man U lost at home to Villa, Chelsea drew (at home too I think)3-3 with Everton and Arsenal beat the Scousers 1-2 at Anfeild!

Great set of results for The Arsenal

Spurs can't call themselves serious contenders losing to a team like Wolves. After gifting a draw to Villa last week they will need some victories against important opposition and few slip ups against the rest.

It was tipping hell out there. 2/10 for me and that was enough to actually improve my position in Virtual.

All the top teams look vulnerable. Second half Man U huffed and puffed but with Giggs off they had nobody to unlock a well organised defence. Also no idea why Rooney is chasing back into the left-back position late in the game when they need a goal and he is their best player. Chelsea crap themselves from every setpiece, the Arse actually looked pretty poor today and with Arshavin as a lone striker they are lightweight. Liverpool were terrible once the Arse were ahead. Rest of the bunch are similar, Spurs look to have trouble breaking down a good defence, Villa won't be in for the long haul, Man City can't defend.

Same old Spurs.

Everyone scores against us, which is OK when wey're scoring nine at the other end but useless when we are one behind and meet an 11 man defense that is happy with just getting a point.

Citeh and Villa look to have stronger fourth spot credentials.

Emerge from the void, strike at vulnerable points, shun places that are defended, attack in unexpected quarters.

I can see its tight from 3 down, but Chelsea are strolling away with this still - tho' Essien being out screwed them last year & may give them some trouble yet, while if Man U can get anyone at all fit (14 guys out injured last week including ALL their defenders bar Evra) they'll easily hold on to 2nd, but I can't see them taking top spot without a 20 goal a year predator up front & with a bunch of workmen + giggs in midfield. Looks like being a year or 2 too early for them really. Says a lot for Chelsea's plight that their only real problem is Cech...

The rest are fighting it out for the champ league spots, god it'd be fantastic if Spurs & Villa wrap those up!

Much as I'm loathe to say it too... but Liverpool were robbed, cast iron fecking penalty.

Crikes yes, that foul on Gerrard was about as clear cut a penalty as you can get. I can't imagine what the ref's justification for not giving it was but I'd sure like to hear it. Farcical.

Luigi, it is not like he had a clear view of it, he was about 10 yards away with an unobstructed view!

He has shafted us before....yes I am aware most supporters think refs have it in for their club!

I utterly despair at the way we crumbled yesterday. Arsenal are as niggly as anything trying to protect leads arent they?

Thing is, if he's trying to say Gerrard dived, then where's the booking because without contact it is the most outrageous case of 'simulation' going!

Robbie Keane had the same thing earlier in the season - goes over in the box (legitimately it tuns out) and the ref says no. Keane actually said to the ref: "book me then."

Mind you, didn't Jamie Carragher get away with one a few games back? :)

Very true, Carragher rugby tackled someone a few games back & got away with it - christ it might have been against Man U was it?

What goes around comes around I guess... like Fergie calling Drogba a diver, then Rooney gets done for a dive on the weekend

I like the fact the english media are in no way the most racist media in the developed world.

When a foreign player playing for a foreign manager, let's say Eduardo or Drogba, dives he should be hung by his thumbs.

But when an English player, playing for a British manager, let's say Rooney or Owen or Agbonlahor or Defoe, does the same that's grand.

I'll just hold the carpet up while you get the broom shall I.

Arsenal currently drawing with Burnley away. I am only reading the live feed but it appears that Eagles may get a red card for catching the ball in the box as it reads that he is doing absolutely everything on the park for Burnley. Burnley unlucky to being held to a draw at the moment.

Arsenal have fallen apart since Fabrgas went of injured.

Pompey level with Chelsea at the bridge while Liverpool have a lead at Anfeild.

Tottenham giving Man City a lesson too

major Digression

Stuff the Premiership - Fulham win 3-2 away at Basle and are through to the knock-out stages of the comp for the teams that aren't good enough to sit at the top table but aren't totally useless xzxdrinks

Bring on Juve eusa_whistle

Hodgson's done a great job to date. Only 1 loss in Europe even though he has clearly (and rightly IMO) focussed on the Premiership - resting key players for every Europa Cup match. There were 6 players rested tonight ahead of Saturdays match up With Man U.

Good run in Europe, respectability in EPL, despite injury concerns. Be nice if we could score goals/win away but bloody hell Hodgson's a feckin miracle worker :)

OK all you top 4 supporters as you were ...

3-0, 3-0, 3-0 xzxcool Only downside to today's result is it means Chelski go 6 clear. But Man U sound so poor that they don't look like being able to offer a credible challenge anyway. All over by Xmas.....

Grafting 2-0 win away for Spurs at Blackburn - I'll take that .

Benitez' 'guarantee' of a top 4 finish is looking slightly shop worn aye?

Last weekend was pretty good for us too, unfortunately the midweek games fucked it all up.

This weekend will only be good if West Ham do us a Huge favor.

villa are the big threat to that statement but will probably slump in form after only using 13 players up to February.

Can't see spurs finishing above Liverpool even with our dreadful run we are on.

Mark Hughes gone from City. Shame, but the guy they are bringing in to replace him is fairly handy, with a couple of Serie A titles to his name.

Liverpool. Are. Shit.

And i am afraid i have joined the "Rafa Out" brigade. All of our players (except Torres) are either not up to standard (Dossena, Kuyt) currently worse than useless through an apparent lack of motivation (Gerrard) or actually playing well, but underused (Benayoun). When Lucas is pretty much our best player, it says a shit load. And when it comes down to it, the guy who's job it is to select and buy the players, motivate the players, and then give them tactics to win games is the manager. He is failing at all his core responsibilities, and i think his time has come.

It would take a massive turnaround to get to 4th from here.

Agree with dogmeat, Roy Hodgson is performing miracles at Fulham not the least of which was converting Bobby Zamora from donkey to class act in the off season. I think this season might come down to when Man Ure get a defence back as Carrick and Fletcher can't do it.

Why didnt they just go for Mourhino? The one guy who has proven he can do exactly want they require and have a big enough ego and star attraction to handle their mega buys.

Not sold on Mancini, his serie A Titles were won when italian football was at its weakest in europe for a long time (Bar AC milan) and their two biggest clubs embroiled in a huge scandal which weakened them considerably.

Chelsea's imperious form has deserted them ( A bit like last year really) and that is the only reason Man U and Arsenal still think they have a chance. Still think (and hope, in a closet kind of way) that Chelsea win the title, if only to stop Man U winning it
