Right, the old battle commences again...

Justin Marshall v Byron Kelleher

with an opening bout of...

Jimmy Cowan v Piri Weepu
Irish commentator - "the worst Australian side I have ever seen. Robbie Deans does not have a backup player in almost every position"

Here's a stat that I found interesting. In how many of his 57 tests did PornStar play the full 80. No peeking...

Says a lot about modern rugby and the predilection for defining half back as a position for roatation during a game to introduce "impact players"

The more i think about it the more I remember him coming on and going off(subbing) and a hell of a lot of riding the pine.

Sorry didn't mean to tease - had a couple of issues at work like guy having a ticker attack and 3rd biggest client threatening to walk but normal service restored and now back to the important stuff

The answer is 9

I wonder how many Tests Marshall started and finished post 1999? I suspect its a low number too... probably not as low, but those two did seem to sub with each other most games

Now days though - it seems that the halfback always gets swapped out around the 70 minute mark or so. When Justin started - he would have played a lot more 80 minute games. I'd gather a guess if you broke it up he'd have most of those 20 full games at the start of his career.

Post 2000 LA so exactly the same criteria as Kelleher although I totally agree with what you say. HB is one posn the coaxches seem to think needs subbing.

Really don't think any coach has really gotten to grips with subbing. They seem to do it by rote to a preconceived plan irrespective of the state of the game. As for those last minute substitutions WTF. AB career consists of running on, not touching the ball, not making a tackle running back off. Hell I could manage that

Yeah, if they want to make money - they could sell a 1 minute AB. When we've got a match sown up - said punter gets to run on, hang out for a minute. Then picks up his Jersey, the memories - and is so many dollars poorer for it.

Probably 3-4 games a year we could do that. $500,000 price tag. Sure to get some punters go for that. That's an extra 2 million a year for the ABs to retain their players!
