...In March, Lauaki punched twice in the mouth a man he accused of stealing his drink at Hamilton's Coyote Bar.

Yesterday, Judge Philip Connell described the attack as gormless, particularly after the court heard that it was one of his own friends who had taken his drink...

"You had no idea that he was the person who took your drink but you just decided to get angry and take it out on him ... That's the sum total of the stupidity of your actions," he said.

...Yesterday, Mr Allen withdrew the application but pleaded Lauaki's case, saying he had suffered under intense media scrutiny and the loss of a "very significant" rugby contract in Japan that was terminated after news of the assault broke. Lauaki has since signed with Clermont Auvergne but Mr Allen said this contract was "not in the same ballpark financially"...

Good fucking job. It's safe to go drinking near the rugby players again in Hamilton :)

I expect lots of drunks have lost jobs before, and job offers. Welcome to the real world, and who the fuck cares? Piss off to France, and good luck.

I once got a job at a bar in london while pissed off my nut, I went up to them and said I could do a better job so they asked me to prove it. I had some very enjoyable shifts.....

But yeah Lauaki, what an absolute waste. Clearly Judge Phillip Connell took a deservedly condescending view of him !

Im happy to potentially never hear the name Lauaki ever again. You have been afforded far too much of our attention you complete waste of space.

I withdraw anything I may have made earlier about the need for counseling just because I sick of hearing about him.

God its irritating when they whip out the old 'oooh poor me, my criminal activity has been reported in the papers' defence. Boo fucking hoo. Quicker he's on a plane the better.
