after 55 mins Southland lead 31 - 16. Southland already chalked up their 4 try bonus point. Turbos just crossed for their first try.

Turbos down to their 4th choice 10. Cruden is in Oz, next choice pulled up lame just before kick off, Issac Thompson broke himself early on, Cama currently playing 10.

A crowd of 6,500 there today, not too bad. Hope they'll get a few more on Thursday against Canterbury.

Southland down a man, and give up a try to the Turbos. 34 - 23 with five minutes or so left.

I think the presence of SBW will boost some crowd numbers in the provinces this year, although is he available next week?

I hope he is. I'm going along, and would like to see him play.

Manawatu showed some promise, despite a loss today. The injuries haven't done them any favours though.
