Steamers have resisted the temptation to start Mike Delany from the bench on Sunday...

We are the pride of all provincial rugby teams
Pass it here, pass it there, we are going to pass it everywhere.
We are the greatest team of all
We dont hold that ball to long, we just pass it right along

I thought press releases were meant to give you those details but apparently not - awful stuff:-

The return of All Black Mike Delany to the Bay of Plenty Steamers this Sunday (29 August 2010) against North Harbour, should provide the additional spark that the Bay side need to ignite their ITM Cup campaign.

The game at the Rotorua International Stadium, which kicks off at 4.35pm, is the ideal opportunity for the Bay of Plenty team to return to their winning ways. Steamers Manager Ross Everiss said,” The North Harbour game is a important clash which we need to win, and win with authority”. “The Steamers need to play a mistake free game, and to score tries to put the team back on track in the ITM Cup”.

With Delany listed in the starting fifteen, the mercurial first five should be the extra link in the chain, that will see the Steamers consistently break the advantage line against the North Harbour side.

There are few changes from the team that faced Taranaki last week. While James McGougan and Joe Savage are bracketed in the front row, Lock Aiden Kuka who has provided sterling service from the bench this season, will start in the number five jersey.

The return of Mike Delany gives the side plenty of kicking options. While Delany is likely to take up the kicking duties, Phil Burliegh has kicked with authority this season, with Dan Waenga another who can slot goals when required.

The Steamers will also have their secret weapon on hand at the Rotorua International Stadium. A large band of vocal Blue and Gold fans are expected to turn up in Rotorua, with the local heroes getting plenty of vocal encouragement as they endeavor to dispatch North Harbour.

Much more fun than last week!

Good news too about John Moore, he's been a big loss to our tight five.
