Please nominate who you think was the most excellent eight in ’11 with your reasons.

If you disagree with a nomination then this thread is your chance to do so – you must say WHY though: furnish reasons for your disagreement! (Or run the risk of deletion!).

Debate at this stage of the process is encouraged.

Polls will be put up later listing nominations’ pros and cons.

Kieran Read - Ferocious in defence, at the break down and with the ball in hand. He's got great skills for a big man too. I loved his jump in the air when Woodcock scored that try.
But I've seen games won by teams without any hope at all!

Ever so subtle block (Fitzy-esque) on Imanol Harin .. oh shit I can't spell it: Hairy Donkey :)

I'm nominating him at 8. I reckon he was the best Frog in the final (far better than Dusautoir) and was outsanding in the knock out rounds and RWC in general. Brilliant in the air too. I'll look up the spelling before posting the poll.

Against Read was he missed a perod of the RWC and wasn't quite at his best due to the injury. Having said that he was still pretty damn good for a guy going at 80-90%.
