Please nominate who you think was the most fantastic five-eighth for the year with your reasons.

If you disagree with a nomination then this thread is your chance to do so – you must say WHY though: furnish reasons for your disagreement! (Or run the risk of deletion!).

Debate at this stage of the process is encouraged.

Polls will be put up later listing nominations’ pros and cons.

Dan Carter. Running game was back to it's best before his groin tear.

Rhys Priestland. Arguably 10 of the RWC with huge punt, calm temperament (for a young man) and great passing game which guys like Jamie Roberts really missed after his injury.

Stephen Donald for that kick and because those 24 years hurt and winning the RWC back after so long was soooooooo sweet:

But I've seen games won by teams without any hope at all!

Nomination: Dan Carter.
Reason: His injury made the RWC a competition. There is no more complete player in his position. Can kick, tackle, step, pass.

Jonathon Sexton, Ireland.

Pros: Even if his coach missed it, he was a key part of the defeat of the Wobbs at Eden Park.
Cons: Dropped.
ALL BLACKS, RWC WINNERS 1987, 2011.

M4L on Zac: "...He looks weird, like a tattooed transvestite."

Quade Cooper, the All Blacks man of the match in the Semi Final v Australia...
Irish commentator - "the worst Australian side I have ever seen. Robbie Deans does not have a backup player in almost every position"
