Please nominate who you think was the most fullest of backs of the year with your reasons.

If you disagree with a nomination then this thread is your chance to do so – you must say WHY though: furnish reasons for your disagreement! (Or run the risk of deletion!).

Debate at this stage of the process is encouraged.

Polls will be put up later listing nominations’ pros and cons.

Kurtley Beale

Without him, Australia are almost crap. With him, they are brilliant.

Israel Dagg

Nomination for becoming the 1st choice 15 for the All Blacks, looking like a new amazing star. A lot.
Unfortunately he is a bit selfish at times. And was injured for most of the year.
ALL BLACKS, RWC WINNERS 1987, 2011.

M4L on Zac: "...He looks weird, like a tattooed transvestite."

Kurtley Beale
Inhalation of breath when he gets the ball. Not many of his ilk in 2011 test rugby.

Ben Foden
Shining light in the darkness of HQ. Only knows one direction, forward.

Mike, how did you miss Leigh Halfpenny? I thought he was the best FB in the World Cup, penetrative on attack, safe on defense, and kicks long penalties (although came up short on the most important one).
"I had my first refereeing sodomy in the semi-final last season against Clermot. I've just had my second tonight. It appeared to hurt the first time, but it was just as bad this time. We will review the images, not on YouTube, but on YouPorn" - Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal

Tried to base my nominations on the calendar year not just the WC. Hence Beale and Foden.

Re Israel Dagg. He's an excitement machine, but has a tendency to go for his own opportunties rather than look for support. Clasic case was 14 point try in the Final with 2 on 1 outside him. Gave the turnover resulted in France's try.

not to mention chose the wrong boots in the changing rooms!

Give him another year as the main man, I expect he will start to make better decisions which will open holes for him or others around him

The big mistake in that game was about 30mins in when he ignored an overlap outside him cut back inside an let Jane run into traffic. I reckon Nonu and Kahui (I think?) would have finished a try given the space.

I hope he shouted Donald a lot of beers because the NZ public would have been looking for a scapegoat if things didn't work out

Still a fantastic player obviously.. although I think wing may be his true position

He's our Beale - immensely talented but incredibly selfish at times.
If homosexuals can't reproduce, how come there are so many of them?
