The Nominees for the centrifugal back are (in no particular order):

SMITH, Conrad NZL
Pros
  • centre was not a worry for us finally at a WC.
  • just got out there and did his job.
  • didn't get much time to shine with the way the ABs played, especially in the WC, but was still doing the job.
  • never lets you down.
  • “I just thought Conrad Smith was brilliant."
  • faded toward the end of the season, but I had him in the top 5 of the ABs for the first 3/4 of the season and the final.
Cons
  • Just got out there and did his job
  • didn't get much time to shine with the way the ABs played, especially in the WC, but was still doing the job.
  • Never lets you down.
  • did miss a few obvious tackles this year. (Not something he's known for. A couple of them were in broken play where others had missed tackles and he was forced to try and cover)

O'DRISCOLL, Brian IRE
Pros
  • has now scored 46 test tries, putting him joint 6th on the all time list with Cullen and Rokh
  • broke a 78 year old record to become the top try scorer in the 6 Nations in his awesome display to deny England a grand slam in Dublin.
Cons
  • None listed
