The Nominees for the best organiser and yeller-atter-of-players are (in no particular order):

HENRY, Graham NZL
Pros
  • RWC winning coach.
  • managed a team through a very tight travel schedulec
  • created a team that could win the RWC without the best player in the world - and in fact with that same player's 3rd replacement for 60% of the final
  • managed major injury concerns to key players in the squad
  • retained the Bledisloe and Freedom Cups
  • made the big calls at the right time replacing experienced, previously favourite players
  • created a team that absolutely dominated the preliminary rounds of the RWC and had the belief to win an epic final under immense pressure from the opposition, history, worldwide All Black haters and the intense scrutiny of the NZ public
  • “kept his eyes on the prize.”
Cons
  • didn't win 3N.
GATLAND, Warren WAL
Pros
  • created a real threat out of previous also rans.
  • despite fading at the end of the RWC their performances did suggest massive improvement
  • coached a young Welsh team to a Semi Final
Cons
  • faded at the end of the RWC but their performances did suggest massive improvement.
  • threw toys
LIEVREMONT, Marc FRA
Pros
  • knew how to get the best out of the French team, piss them off. Whether it was genius or madness they came with in a inch or two of spoiling the All Blacks party
  • a massive achievement to get France to the final and to come so close to winning the Main Event.
Cons
  • dumped in team mutiny
DE VILLIERS, Pieter RSA
Pros
  • provides sheer entertainment value
Cons
  • doubts as to whether he is indeed a coach
