McCullum out in the first over for 8 is my bitter and twisted prediction. I hope he doesn't though

The Five foot two Tasmanian is the Match Referee. I didn't realise he was doing this sort of thing.

damn sky is a hack sports station

theyre ripping the ausy city flyby that was used in aussies tests.
their commentators also recycle aussie commentaries.

the nz hotspot tech in that last test was very substandard. was too zoomed in, low res and low framerate which meant the tracking of the bat and ball was terrible and hard to distinguish, and the players easily moved out of frame because of the small field of view

LOL - i was being a smart ass. The fact he wasn't opening - but an opener got out (Nicol) meant he was 'out' in the middle in the first over. But then he gets himself out anyway, in the 2nd over - his first over. So you were doubly right!

So our retarded decision to prepare seaming wickets is already backfiring. Good to see.

Ahhh the Black Caps team of yore. Needing to be saved by the tail (Slightly exaggerated as I think our bowlers will easily role Zim)

We've never quite completely recovered from losing the two early wickets. Nearly got back when we were six down, but in the end have come up short.

Zimbabs could make this interesting if someone gets set.

As Guptil and Southee have 54 and 51 ODIs respectively I think your figures may be a little out.

Still, outside those four not much experience in the side and five guys with less than 10 ODIs.

All out for 248. At least 30 runs shy of what they should have got but should still probably be enough.

All out inside 49 overs? for less than 250? against that attack? fucking substandard. Still, when the bloke in your top order with 70% of the ODI caps of the top 6 (who is also your captain) gets out for nothing, you are on the back foot.

We'll need to bowl well.

We need to bowl well, but almost certain we will. I have no reason to believe Mills, Southee & Braces won't make early inroads. It's their responsibility too, because with such a deep bowling group if everyone just tries to bowl their overs safely for 4 rpo things will get dangerous.
When the Nets go 0-82, it's gravy. When the Blues go 2-9, it's Lam.

Southee will need to actually bowl to his ability, rather than half-assing it like he usually does.

15/3 won't be watching any cricket after work at this rate.

Can Zimbabwe last another 1:40 and score enough runs to make it interesting (but not too many).

Albeit a little difficult at University Oval.

The NZC scheduling for this summer is baffling. Leave playing the second game of the summer the same day that Super Rugby trials start - but they also seem determined to avoid weekend matches at all costs. The next ODI... Monday?!
