Thread: Mafia poetry

  1. #1

    Default Mafia poetry

And a wee branch off the `Mafia Chants' thread...

There is a young lock called Retallick,
When lifted, the sight is quite phallic,
    He used to hit
Like a small bag of shit
Now his tackling is really metallic.
A daring, ambitious opening gambit, KP - top stuff.

Extra, extra bonus points for fitting `Poluleuligaga' into a limerick. Sadly, it's too long to fit into even the second line of a Haiku...

Inspired by memories of the great Lord Glen,
    I'm dreaming of 2010
Let the skills of Phil Burleigh
    Win the Shield of Ranfurly
    And never relinquish it again

There was a young man, a dreamer
Who wished to be a Waikato A-Teamer
    But he eventually quit
    He was terribly shit
And now they call him a "steamer"

    Hows that?

With such talent as this, we're going to need an entire forum of our own!

Bay signed a a flash wing called Masaga
He made opponents stand like a punga
He got ball down the line
    From our star No 9
    Poluleuligaga

    In response to Voltron:

In red, black and yellow, he was merely an imposter
But that didn't stop him catching the eye of Foster
    So new he's a Chief
And the Bay is in grief
Because their star has been forced overseas to Gloucester

There was a young man called Zar,
    Who became a Sevens star,
When he played for the Bay,
    We all said "no way",
Tits for hands is really bizarre

There was a time we used to go toe to toe
With the red yellow and black of Waikato

The last time the Mooloos won their coach was Mitch
Nowdays they are just BOP's bitch.

Now we just need to convince Foster to go!

Bay of plenty is a great place to be
Nice climate and right by the sea
but their fans have a chip
    worse than shane bond's hip
just relax and enjoy the super 14!

Seems like DSW fans are happy with claiming the words "be", "sea" and "fourteen" as rhymes.

Mind you, it's the same crowd that tried to affirm `lonely nights', `cows' and `no, no, she stepped back into my gumboots' were entirely appropriate in the same sentence... so I guess we can show them a bit of literary license...

haha, I was trying to work out how it was an imperfect rhyme too...would have made more sense to just say ...just relax and enjoy the super rugby!...simple

Give us 15 years when it's the super 40 and it'll rhyme better!

And it's not like "Glen" and "Again" really rhyme either (when pronounced using the Queens english)

    I agree - absolute classic.

You should spread this to the taniwha forum TR.

I'll start you off with these rhymes - Ranger, Danger, Stranger.

Just found this thread after a period of absence from the boards - pure brilliance!

There once was a team from the Bay,
Who could not get their stars to stay,
    In a moment of need,
    They signed Hayden Reid,
And boy did they sure rue that day...
    Its a matter of faith...

A great style of Rugby we've played
Running backs and great hookers weve made
    The cupboards gone thin
    But were going to win
With the Next genaration of Braids!@!!

    Harsh, Warlord, but funny nonetheless...!

There's a few more I'd put in before Reido though... see our BOP Worst Import XV assembled last year!
