With the start of the new season approaching rapidly Nick McCashin has started his blog again. Interesting to get an inside look at the team, also this season he appears to have better spelling and grammar so that is even better news.

Hope his face heals soon so we can see him on the park again.

It was a successful trip down to Hawkes Bay. The team had a high scoring game which they came out on top 44 to 34. It would have been nice to see the boys scoring all those points. Unfortunately I only lasted a few minutes in the game. Diagnoses = two fractures in my left facial bones. Not the way I wanted the weekend to go. While we were in Hawkes Bay we stayed at the Tennyson hotel, thank you to Peter and his team for making us feel at home with the lollies at the front counter and the beautifully cooked steak. Peter also mentioned to me that if any supporters or readers of the blog are following the team down in a couple of weeks they can ask for a supporters discount. As I make my way onto the injury list the next few days will be a bit different compared to the rest of the team. The boys will have a gym session early tomorrow and then reviews with a conditioning/skills training in the afternoon. I have an appointment with the surgeon so hoping for good news. Stay tuned....
