As per last comment.....MAGS 20-17
Yes MAGS have rolled the much talked about HBHS team 20-17.
Interesting hearing the sec school side announced ....the trend of not selecting any Wesley players...hmmmm although they had a weak game against HBHS they are the most successful team by titles.....and have been in the past very strong but look at the comp in the local area and a limited amount of teams and comp....has a detrimental affect when it comes to top 4. Think there were ony 4-5 teams playing in the counties ist fifteen this year....pathetic. In the past they have tried to join Akld comp for better comp and even played under 21 comp and took that out.....anyway.....see what happens!!!!! Same old thing...wish Tipene were still around that was an awesome team to play against......
Anyway....enuff.....well done MAGS.....and too bad HBHS ( few more titles and you may catch up to WTC)

Sorry for asking a stupid question but when were the semis played (MAGS vs Bedes and HBHS vs GBHS)? They were shown delayed on Saturday on the Rugby Channel but Im assuming they were played midweek and the final was played yesterday?
Congrats to MAGS what a super effort. HBHS great run has come to an end. Looked to me like they have been struggling a wee bit for the last few weeks, they were bloody lucky to get out of jail against GBHS in semi.

semis friday, finals on sunday..
should merge this with the old thread..
and change the title from hamilton wins to mags wins
HBHS has an advantage over everyone because they have three teams playing in the highest level in the Waikato and Super 8 comp. 1st and 2nd XV plays in the Super 8 and their 3rd XV plays in the Waikato 1st 1st XV competition.
Eh? No they dont.
These are the super 8 teams.

There is a 2nd XV super eight comp, but all the teams have that as well, so HBHS doesnt have an advantage over any other super 8 team.

Play the game Bay of Plenty, play the game
Play the game Bay of Plenty, play the game
One of the HBHS teams play in the Waikato 1st XV competition and makes the semis just about every year against some of the best schools in the area. That's like having two 1st XV for their development players to get experience for the other year. The Auckland schools don't have that.
